Covering

A robust background in the covering of all kind of materials

The covering process, which consists of wrapping around one central part, called “core yarn”, one or several covers, aims to:

  • protect the yarn placed at the core in order to preserve its properties in the context of technical applications;
  • give more volume to a fabric in order to improve the way it looks.

MOULINAGE DU PLOUY is well known in the field of covering be it single, double, on a rigid or an elastic core yarn.

For a specific request, the number of covers may be increased to combine more elements.

Parameters can be adjusted to accommodate for:

  • composition;
  • count;
  • elasticity;
  • shrinkage.

We’re even able to adapt our equipment to meet special requests such as but not limited to atypical diameters and abrasive materials.
